RAID

Does anyone know of any RAID controllers apart from PSI that work with QNX
4.25.

Thanks in advance,
Martin.

We’ve recently converted to the SentinelRAID 150F from Infortend
(http://www.infortrend.com.tw/scsi.asp)

So far it’s been pretty impressive. Our archive node has 420G of RAID 5
running on it. The only draw back is we have never (in 10+ years of trying)
gotten QNX4 to boot off anything RAID. Our solution is to use an IDE Flash
Drive for booting. A floppy or network boot would also work.

Hope that helps.

I have been using a Duplidisk II RAID 1 controller for about a year now on a
QNX 4.25 development system., and have had no problems. I have yet to have a
disk drive failure, so I can’t vouch for it in that respect yet (knock on
wood), but otherwise it does everything it was advertised to do, including
booting QNX. It comes in a variety of packages, with or without media. I
have been using the 5.25" bay mount, with two off-the-shelf 40 gb disk
drives. Other possibilities are PCI mount, 3.5" bay mount, and a standalone
plastic package that just “lies there” inside the PC enclosure. It was about
$300. www.duplidisk.com
