GUI untar/gzip app or WTF do I install the wheelmouse driver

Is there an archive application with a GUI frontend, like Winzip?
Preferably one that can be downloaded then doubleclicked to self
extract and put all of its files in the proper places.

Once I do get the wheelmouse driver uncompressed, where do I put
it? Does it have a “readme” file in the archive?

It would be nice if www.qnxstart.com was setup as a repository
with all the stuff as packages that work like the ones on the CD
and QNX WWW repositories.

The wheelmouse driver from QNXStart will only work with PS/2 mice… just
thought I’d let you know.

That driver is incompatible with non wheel mouse, but it needs to have
the same name as the standard driver for the time being, so just make
sure it is somewhere in your PATH before /usr/photon/bin

And if you don’t have wheel mouse, it won’t work, and you won’t have
any mouse at all.

We’re working on cleaning this up and making the whole thing much easier.
We gave the devi-hirun to qnxstart so people could have something right
away… like a free drink when you’re waiting at the bar for your table.

It’s unlikely, but would this driver support the TouchScroll feature of my
Logitech integrated touchpad? I would not want to work in an OS which does
not support it (that is the reason why I uninstalled Windows 2000).

Well it sounds like it is a software feature… not a hardware feature, so
it likely isn’t supported.

Can you describe what it does?

The TouchScroll feature of my Logitech touchpad allows one to scroll
horizontally and vertically in a window, by sliding one’s finger down the
horizontal and vertical bars on the touchpad. It’s basically the touchpad
version of a mouse wheel. You’re probably right about it being a software
feature, as it isn’t supported in the native Windows ME driver, either. I
am awaiting the release of Logitech’s new MouseWare driver before I attempt
to re-install ME.
