Package Manager reports archive format error.

I am trying to install the GNU C Development Package from the QNX WWW
site.
I have configured it to use a socks proxy. The package Manager is able
to download
the listing for the repository. I then select the GNU C Development
Package for a Full
Install and then start the process. After a couple confirmation steps it
appears to be
downloading some files which happens very fast (even for an ethernet
connection).
It then reports to be decompressing the files and then an error message
reports the
following: “error in archive format”.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance.

I have since discovered that the “archive format error” is caused by th fact
that the size
of each file that was downloaded is 0 bytes. Does this mean that QNX Package
Manger
is using a non-standard method for downloading files which a socks proxy can
not
handle?
