Newbie : QNX's Development Environment.

Hello, all.

I’m a newbie in qnx, and I have some questions about QNX.

I have to program 6 PC104 PCs. Each PC has to be programed with individual
code. It has a Flash Disk(32MB) and has TCP/IP Network.

What is the QNX’s development environment in this case. Do I have to attach
6 separate Keyboards, Mouses, Hard disks and Monitors to each PC?

Are there any ways to make my programs in one PC and download and run them
in each PCs?
If there are, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Choc.

Hi Choc,

Yes this is possible, if your PC104’s have a boot prom on them
QNX supports Bootp.

Check out the docs for the QNX RTP, but here is a quick link to
get you started.

http://support.qnx.com/support/docs/neutrino_qrp/utilities/b/bootpd.html

also here is a link for you so you can get to understand how to build
your system.

Regarding QNX’s development environment, QNX is selfhosted, however if
you want you can get CodeWarrior cross dev for QNX Neutrino (you will have to
contact a sales rep at QNX for this 1-800-363-9001) or there is also a
QNX 4 based cross development.

Regarding the 6 individual machines, you can either telnet, rlogin, ftp, or use
QNX Native networking (QNET)

Take care!
