network woes - newbie

Newbie network problems. I have searched and looked for answers through
the Help and in previous messages, but I am afraid I don’t know enough
about it.

Network card is not recognized (through nettrap -v, → “no network
card”)
pci -v → shows the card just fine (although it says “Macronix
MX98715/725” ?)

The card is a LinkSys NC100 (apparently the same as the LNE100), so I
tried the tulip driver, but it looks like it wouldn’t find the driver:

slay io-net
io-net -d tulip (I tried with other params as well), gets a message
that says it can’t find tulip under /dll or something like that.

I have a firewall setup on the other end of the cable, working just fine
under win98).

I am lost. How can I get networking going?

Thanks!

Hi rsm,

Could you please post the output from pci -vvv

Thanks

Erick.

Here’s the output from pci -vvv, followed by the output from nettrap -vvv.

Thanks!

P.S. If there is a newsreader for QnX please let me know. I have to switch
back to win98 to post this.

Hi rsm,

Could you please post the output from pci -vvv

Thanks

Erick.

Thanks!

rsm

Hi rsm,

There is a newsreader for QNX (tin), this is a package that you have to install
if I remember correctly.

Regarding the issue

Thanks

Erick.

Here’s the output from pci -vvv, followed by the output from nettrap -vvv.

Thanks!

P.S. If there is a newsreader for QnX please let me know. I have to switch
back to win98 to post this.

Thanks!
