Newbie - QNX wont boot

Hiya all…

I am just starting with QNX, and I have downloaded the latest version
18-01-01 ), but I can’t get it to run. The windows installer tells me it
worked OK, but when I boot into QNX ( from the HDD or the floppy, DMA or no
DMA ), I get the following :

Press the space bar to input boot options…
Detected EIDE. Scanning for devices.
This can take up to 30 seconds…
simq_timer: building abort ccb
ata_start_ccb: func 10
ata_ccb_abort: calling ata_error

The system the crashes completely and hangs - Numlock does not respond and
the 3-finger-salute ( CTRL-ALT-DEL ) does nothing.

I have installed the same system on a different computer and had no
problems. My system looks as such :

PC Partner VIB878DS Motherboard
2 X 32MB ram @ 100mHz
AMD K6-2 300MHz
Seagate U10 Model ST320423A 20.4GB Hdd
On-board IDE
S3 Trio 3D video card
Lantech LAN card ( listed in device manager as Realtek RTL8029 Ethernet
Adapter and Compatables ) - but not connected to LAN
Atech ATS-255 Modem
Prime technology PT-944B 44X CDROM
Creative Sound Blaster 16
Windows 98 ( 2nd ed? 4-10-98 )

If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, it would be greatly
appreciated.
