I`d like to use my Win2000 server as internet-gateway for QNX clients…
where can I find information about this topic?

thanx

In the network configuration tool (phlip), there is a box on the
“Network” tab labelled “Default Gateway”. Type the IP address of your
Windows 2000 machine here. Add the name server(s) that your ISP gave
you to the “Name Servers” box. That is all you should have to do. If
it does not work, and you are able to ping the Windows 2000 machine by
IP address, then the Windows 2000 gateway is broken.

I believe “Win2000” is a graphical based package sold by a company named
“Microsoft”. Perhaps they might have more info on how to configure that
system as an internet-gateway.

good luck,
rick

and i`m as far as i was before…

i can ping my server… but i guess the gateway aint broken, cause all my
win98 clients work (almost) perfectly…

if you`ve got any other ideas about my problem, please let me know…

thanx

You should have to do anything on the QNX side, if you are using
W2K internet sharing stuff then your W2K local network connection
becomes a dhcp server.

I’ve done this once with no problem (with QNX4 and QNX6)

First do a cat /proc/ipstats to see if the QNX6 machine obtain
an IP address.

However I quickly change the setup because I often need the
Win2K machine for other purpuse and rebooting or switching
to other OS meant all the other machine lost their connection
to internet ;-( I got a home gateway instead, far less trouble to
setup…
