There a problem with the WWW Repository? I can hit the
repository.qnxstart.com,
but can’t hit the default WWW Repository in Package Manager.
Short of that, any other way to get patch B?

You should be able to get it from http://qnx.tucows.com … except that
when I did (as .qpr files - use pkg-installer -u .qpr),
whatever file I tried to use, it gave me errors saying I was missing certain
other files. There’s also a note floating around on http://www.qnxstart.com
that the Tucows ISO is slightly fudged, apparently. shrugs

Fudged? I’d say. Package Installer can’t find the CD repository, off THAT

I don’t believe that the “Patch B” that Tucows has, is actually Patch B -
Referring to
the error you get (which I got), plus, it’s EXACTLY the same size as one of

I went through a lot of effort to get the Patch A ISO and then burn the
Patch B files (this included taking a harddrive from one machine, into
another, out and into another, out then back into the original, while paying
someone to burn it), and the ISO wasn’t recognized by his copy of Nero as an
actual ISO file, and the Patch B QPR’s failed. Bah!

Only thing I can think of, is that because I’m going through my Win2000
AdvServer’s
NAT, it’s not happy, but I can reach others just fine on the net.
What to do, what to do.
Say…got a fast connection? Can you enable the check box for “Archive
Package” and then
we arrange for how I can get 'em from ya? I can turn on my FTP. Got DSL over
here.

Yes.
http://qdn.qnx.com/news/releases/index.html
The release status has always been posted there.
We found the toucows patch B problem before. I was in contact and they said
they would update it. I’ll check again.
It was announced in the qdn.public.qnxrtp.os newsgroup →
I’ll get a more appropriate newsgroups setup.
Sorry about the delay.

Hmmm, okay. I was going by what’s on the main page at
http://qdn.qnx.com/ - it’s still telling me Patch B. Also,
http://get.qnx.com/ only mentions Patch B on the main page.
The release status has always been posted there.
Now that I have that link, though, I’ll bookmark it >> Thanks!

Okay. Probably about a month ago I tried using the ISO and B patches
from TUCOWS, and neither of them worked properly. If it weren’t such a
hassle for me to gain access to a burner, I’d try it again. Instead, I just
used my CD from September, and spent a week of evenings downloading the
patches over 56k.
It was announced in the qdn.public.qnxrtp.os newsgroup -
- QNX RTP Patch C & Language Supplement Betas Now Available !!!
Uhh… I just did a search on all 3,247 messages in my reader from
qdn.public.qnxrtp.os and the only mentions of ‘Patch C’ I find in subjects
is ‘Patch C problem’. shrugs Could be why I missed it
I’ll get a more appropriate newsgroups setup.
A plain, QSSL-people-only announcements newsgroup would work for me.
qdn.public.news carries too much material which isn’t news or important
announcements.
Sorry about the delay.
I’m sure you have enough to deal with as it is; no pressure from me. At
least, not too much… I’m only demanding a fast, stable,
fully-functional OS for free is all. heh
