Patch C question

I try to download patch C from QNX WWW repository because my qnx machine
without internet access. I look through the file bundles-qnx-6.0C-x86.qpm.
The lines 14-21 are:
QPM:BundleContainsos-core-2.1.1C-x86</QPM:BundleContains>
QPM:BundleContainsos-core-2.1.1C</QPM:BundleContains>
QPM:BundleContainsos-drivers-2.1.1C-x86</QPM:BundleContains>
QPM:BundleContainsos-drivers-2.1.1C</QPM:BundleContains>

QPM:BundleContainsph-runtime-2.0.1C-x86</QPM:BundleContains>
QPM:BundleContainsph-runtime-2.0.1C</QPM:BundleContains>

I could not find the next files
os-core-2.1.1C-x86.qpk
os-core-2.1.1C-x86.qpm
os-core-2.1.1C.qpk
os-core-2.1.1C.qpm
os-drivers-2.1.1C-x86.qpk
os-drivers-2.1.1C-x86.qpm
os-drivers-2.1.1C.qpk
os-drivers-2.1.1C.qpm
There are only analogous files for patch B in repository.

My questions is:
Are these files not complete yet?
Or file bundles-qnx-6.0C-x86.qpm is incorrect?

Can anybody advise me how I can to install patch C? Yes, I have seen the
file rep.patchC.tar.gz but this file is too big for me

Thanks in advance
Eduard

These lines reference ProductIdentifier entries, not filenames.
You can grep the QPM’s for QPM:ProductIdentifier to find them.

I’d like to correct my previous post–it’s referencing
QPM:PackageName, not QPM:ProductIdentifier.

Sorry about the mix-up.

Hello Jerry, thanks for a rapid reply.

I understand, package name is not a file name. But these things have
assotiative connections in patch B.
I greped the QPM’s for “QPM:PackageName>os-core-2.1.1C”. I could not find
any .qpm file with string above. I only greped files dated April-May 2001,
but I think it’s enough.
So, my question is: where is os-core and os-drivers for patch C? I mean QPK
file name.
And next:
Is anybody who know about OS changes in patch C? May be only Photon
affected by patch C and I try to find black cat in dark room

Thanks in advance,
Eduard.

The release notes for patch C can be found at

Barry

Hi,

I found where I had been wrong.

I lost the bundles-* files when I downloaded the patch B. These files did
not exist in my local repository. It seems strange a little but I installed
patch B without any problems. All components were installed and script
rebuilt my boot image. I cannot imagine what is reason for install child
packages without parent package. And exchange, I am unable to select child
packages separately if parent package is in repository. I guess the reason
is only one: the ALL child packages are required. Then it is a bug: every
child package has a reference to the parent package, but the child package
(alone) is installed without any warning if parent package does not even
exist in repository.

So I installed patch B incorrect.

I got the error message “QNX 6.0 (patch C) cannot be installed, it requires
the installation of packages you have not selected or must be found in
another repository” when I had tried to install patch C. The message
confused me, because I was sure my patch B is OK. Yes, I’ve seen the
packages list in left window of package manager. And qnx_6.0B was marked as
missing… But this list was duplicated. Every package was in list twice. I
guess the word “issue” is in English for this situation. I ignored the
scruffy list and that more is knowen…
By the way, where can I read the known issues list?

And last. I was able to install patch C in my situation simple by delete
bundles-* files in my own repository. I agree it is not correct, but it is
a way…without any red brick.

Best wishes,

Eduard.
