Fed up with QNX

Right, I used to have a QNX CD which I was given at a QNX seminar, but
unfortunately I dont have it anymore. So I chose to download QNX from the
web and do you think that I can find anywhere to download PHAB?? no, the QNX
web site on the whole is pants, and so are all the partner sites!!!, where
is PHAB!!!, please note that I have to download the package file within
Windows, as I cant get QNX online, due to it not being very supportive!!!

Niknak!!! :frowning:

PhAB is part of the development packages which are available from QNX
Repository. If your network card is not supported, you might want to
download the ISO image and burn a CD to do the installation.

Thats one of the problems, I dont have a CD burner, is there any other way I
can get PHAB?, I have been wanting to develop some QNX apps for a long time
now, and now is the perfect time to get up to speed, but alas, i cant find
PHAB. Maybe there is something similar available?

You donā€™t have network card and you donā€™t have CD burner and you want to

network card is best advise I can give you. Should not be unbearable for
budget these days.

I have a network card but I dont know if it is supported, its a Xircom
RealPort PCMCIA modem/10-100 Ethernet card. Anyways, I shouldnt need a CD
burner to develop, its not for other people simply to build up a knowledge,
im good at making an abudance of apps to make me more productive, anyways im
off to the QNX site now as I have just downloaded and installed the latest
version, and it seems to have a few bugs.

I donā€™t think Xircom is supported. Since youā€™re working on laptop, Iā€™d
suggest to buy a wireless card (Lucent Orinoco is probably best choice).
That will be justified (since you get new functionality, not just new card)
and will work with QNX.

That of course will dent about $350 from your pocket (you need card + acces
point) but I did that and enjoy being off hook now

Or find sme NE200-compatible cheapo ā€¦

If you fire up the pkg-installer you can install it. However, if you have
installed 6.1 you will probably have to wait for the online repository to
go ā€œliveā€ again. However, if you have QNX installed already just download
the ISO and mount it without burning it. You do this by doingā€¦

mount -t cd qnxrtp.iso /fs/cd0

and then fire up pkg-installer and double-click on the CDROM Repository.

I knew it! I KNEW it could be done!

ā€¦ So the Patch A ISO I got from TUCOWS waaay back wasnā€™t just me; it

You must install the C/C++ Toolset for x86 target x86 to get PhAB using
the ā€œInstallerā€.
