FireWall on QNX 6.1

What s your oppinion on running an QNX system as a FireWall…
Personally, I am not sure whether it is the optimal use of QNX. I have
the opportunity to choose among more systems and want to make the right
choice… it would route a 2Mbit connection with up to 100 users
heavilly using the iNet.

TNX 4 any ideas (concerning QNX of course - non QNX better personally)

Marek

as QNX don’t have a lot of vulnerabilities it’s a quite good idea.
but I don’t know if it would be a good router for a 2Mbit connection

Hi Marek,

I am not very used to firewalls neither LANs, but I think that QNX
would be good because of it’s scalability. So, you could tweak the OS
to run fast even on low-endian machines, and to work as a network
compound (i.e. used as routers, hubs and so on).
My opinion is regarding performance and ease of scaling, I don’t
know about firewall softs or stuff related to net velocity and usage.
I hope this could be useful (-:
