Newbies need HELP, problem with pppoe connection!!!

I tried many configurations but still not working…
here’s the command line i used:
io-net -del509 ioport=0x300, irq=10 -ptcpip -ppppmgr -ppppoe
and in the tcp/ip configuration panel i added all parameters that ‘should’
work as;

-In Network tab-
Host Name: ecpaev
Domain Name: sympatico.ca
Default Gateway: ---- not used as in MS Windows----

-In Devices tab-
Connection is set to Manual
Enable Device is ON
Ip is blank (pppoe provider provide an new ip each time i connect to)
NetMask is blank (same reasons as up)

-In Connection tab-
All parameters are valid as username, password (Automatic chap
identification…)
Name server have valid Ip (2 was provided)

Still one thing… what is the Services input box? i leave it blank but is
it the reason why no connection to the server (domaine) as in snap5.bmp
Thank’s for help!!!

Don’t use spaces to separate the options for devn-el509.so, just a comma.
I don’t know if that will solve the rest of your problems.

I would set the Connection to use DHCP not Manual.

This should be the box that you must fill in to identify your ISP on the DSL.
Since many ISP’s can exist to provide DSL services, this is the name that
uniquely identifies them, and ensure all your traffic gets moved to go through
them. If you’re using Windows and EnterNet software for PPPoE you should
be able to find out by looking at the properties of your connection. You
could also ask you ISP what their service identification string is.
