hardware modem doesn't work with QNX 6.1 RTOS

I have a Diamond SupraExpress 56e PRO modem (serial, external),
which is a hardware modem. However I cannot make it work with
QNX 6.1 RTOS (29MB download version).

I type in console:

qtalk -m /dev/ser1 (my modem is in serial 1)

QNX seems to find the modem in ser1. Then I type:

atz

and the response is:

OK

Then I type:

atdt

and the response is:

NO DIALTONE

And the modem won’t dial. I suppose that the problem is that the
modem waits for dial tone before dialing, which is not the way
modems work here in Greece. If this is the case, is there something
to do so that the modem doesn’t wait for dial tone before dialing?

Hello! That is the problem. Most of the modems are manufactured with US

standards.
We often have the same problem in Italy.
Try ATX3DTanynumber (your cellular phone is a good idea to verify
immediately) as initializing string. If OK try at&w0 or at&w1 to modify the
standart setup, then at&v to verify the registers.
Hi >>Enzo

OK. My modem dials now. Thank you very much for your help.
