Modems

Can’t get QNX 6.1 to detect my modem. I have an onboard PCTel HSP56
Micromodem, and I also tried a Sportster…nothing. Any ideas?

AFAIK the PCTel HSP56 is a software driven modem (ie. it’s lacking in some
hardware that a special windows only driver knows how to compensate for).
The HSP stands for Host Signal Processing (ie. your computer does the signal
processing instead of the modem).

The Sportster you tried, is it also a WinModem? If not which Sportster did
you use?

Ahhh you never really win with a ‘win’ modem do you?

Heh heh… sorry, long day.

And the box said “requires Windows 98 or better,” so I ran it on QNX…

I like that. Unfortunately QNX is too much better.
