Afternoon,

I got QNX 6.1 when I purchased Amiga OS XL but are having a few problems.

I must say that everything installed easily and quickly.

  1. I wanted to be able to read a PDF file. I found mention of a Photon
    patch on the support web site. I downloaded it but have no idea what to do
    with it now. Can someone tell me ?

  2. I’d love to get Samba going so I can talk to other computers on my
    network. Again I found the files on the website. I downloaded them and
    followed the instructions. When I tried to access SWAT through port 901
    nothing happened. When I looked at the SWAT executable I found that it was
    a text file and seemed to be a chunk of something else. It’s like it didn’t
    unpack properly but the documentation was readable ? I’m confused. I tried
    two versions that had been previously compiled, the were
    samba-qnxbin-2.0.4b.tgz and samba-qnxbin-2.0.7.tgz in the
    /usr/free/qnx4/tcpip/utils directory of the FTP site.

Is it some incompatibility between QNX 4 and QNX 6.1 ?

  1. I’ve done a search on the web site for an SSH client. I couldn’t find
    one. Anyone have any ideas ?

Please tell what exactly you downloaded and from.
I saw pdf viewer at
http://www.nexwarecorp.com/programs/xpdf.gz
But don’t see it anymore…

They are incompatible.

Point your Installer to
http://developers.cogentrts.com/repository/
and istall openSSH, also there is openSSL at
http://qnx.wox.org/packages/6.1/
