VMWARE

I’m trying to get a virtual machine of QNX using VMWare. Has anyone else
been able to create one?

Matt

Someone here did. I believe he had a very basic one with just a console and
serial port to start…I’m not sure of the details but it’s something on my
list of things to do. Let me know if you have any luck.

cheers,

Kris

I tried QNX RTP 6.0A into VMWare 3.0 virtual box under NT4. It worked, but it does not work in
VMWare 2.x.
Best regards,
Eduard.

Some details…
Since I have only QNX RTP 6.0A iso I tried only this image. Just point that image as CD-ROM of my
virtual box and boot from it . I have smoothly installed RTP, but did not try to find net card or
video card. Photon worked in VGA mode and not very fast . It was just very shot experiment… we
need Linux in that virtual box… BTW, QRTP6.0A does not recognize video card on that PC (even if
it’s installed into own partition… it was previous experiment ). Regards, Eduard.

My experience is similar. RTP6.x will not run in VMWare 2.x.
I’ve tried several ways to install, and none work, always failing
with a “Function not implimented” error from VMWare.

I have NOT yet tried to install it into a Windows box running on VMWare
as of yet, however…

( note that my experience with WinXP is similar. It won’t instal in VMWare
2.x, but after installed in VMWare 3.x it kinda-sorta runs very badly
in VMWare 2.x crashing often )
