i have scoured thru the news groups and qnx web pages. it says xircom pcmcia
cardbus 10/100 ethernet adater is supported - hence i went and bought this
device.
doesn’t detect it - no amount of slaying the io-net helps either.
what am i doing so grossly wrong ?
would appreciate any insight. this is detected by windows 2000 and linux
quite happily. if this card is not supported,
- please update your pcmcia supported page and put something more explicit
there
- i have some experience with writing solaris/linux device drivers so if
someone were to point me to documentation which advises me as to how a
driver for this beast can be written, i am willing to give that a try too.
thanks
also i have no floppy drive on this beastly notebook.
it has a texas instruments cardbus bridge pci1251A pc card controller
the card reads RealPort CardBus Ethernet 10/100 RBE-100 at the back.
thanks

No, the RBEM-100 CardBus card is supported, not the PCMCIA version.

see, this is another confusion i have been plagued with. cardbus is the
equivalent of pci 32bit bus for pcmcia. ideally one would say RBEM-100 PCI
is supported not the PCMCIA version. this cardbus mixup is what made me
create this goofup.
http://www.pc-card.com/papers/cardbus.htm - i am not trying to annoy you -
you are the only person who even responded. just that i desperately want to
extoll the virtues of qnx within our environment which is disgustingly
pro-ce/palm and this is not making my life any easier.
do we have a ddk (there is a beta kit i saw somewhere on qnx website - i
will hunt for it) manual of sorts as to what needs to be done to
develop/compile etc. i would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know
where i can find it.
thanks much.

Thank you Erick.
I will check it out and who knows - I may actually get this card to work !!
I hope that has some documentation as to how to … etc.
Thanks again.

Hi Sundar,
You can download the DDK’s from > http://commercial.qnx.com/repository
BTW, I updated our supported hardware page to reflect the correct model.
Sorry for the mixup.
Take care.
Erick.
