CMI8738/C3DX PCI audio card supported?

Hi,

My audio card is not detected and io-pnp error is displayed when I try
to use the mixer.

pci-v gave the following information:

Class = Multimedia (Audio)
Vendor ID = 13f6h, C-Media Electronics Inc.
Device ID = 111h, CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device
PCI index = 0h
Class Codes = 040100h
Revision ID = 10h
Bus number = 2
Device number = 13
Function num = 0
Status Reg = 210h
Command Reg = 105h
Header type = 0h Single-function
BIST = 0h Build-in-self-test not supported
Latency Timer = 20h
Cache Line Size= 0h
IO Address = d800h length 256 enabled
Subsystem Vendor ID = 13f6h
Subsystem ID = 111h
Max Lat = 24ns
Min Gnt = 2ns
PCI Int Pin = INT A
Interrupt line = 3
Capabilities Pointer = c0h
Capability ID = 1h
Capabilities = 602h - 0h

I’ve disabled pnp os in the bios settings, and have tried to look for
help in forums, but to no avail (maybe I missed something).

Is this sound card supported, and what should I do to get it working?

Another question, I have a motorola sm56 speakerphone pci modem, which I
believe is a winmodem :frowning: Is there any possibility whatsoever of
getting it working?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Srinivas.

Hi,
Try http://mike.qnx.org.ru/cmi
And QNX doesn’t support the winmodems.

Hi,
I’d not like to be a “bad phone” Feel free to contact directly to driver developer.
He is Mike Gorchak. I’m sure he’s interested of your experience of driver usage, bug report etc.,
and of course, he’ll answer your questions.
mailto:mike@ml.qnx.org.ru?Subject=CMI driver
P.S. I’m going to bring his attention to this newsgroup’s thread as well
Cheers.

Hi,
Thanks for the related link. Could you give information where the
library should be installed? is it /lib/dll ? Is copying the file in
the location sufficient, or does it require any settings?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Srinivas.

Yes, just copy “deva-ctrl-cmpci.so” file to /lib/dll and run in shell
“io-audio -d cmpci” or “io-audio -d /lib/dll/deva-ctrl-cmpci.so” - it is
depended on your QNX version. BTW: versions before QNX 6.1 is not supported.

You need everytime run driver by hands, if you want automatic driver
startup - try to write that lines in startup script, like rc.local. If you
want full automatic - you need to modify in /etc/… audio definition
script.
