.ISO CD install problems

I downloaded the ISO CD image and burned a CD with it. I then installed
the rtp within the Win98 file system as advertised. During the install,
I get two “severe” error messages: one saying that the qnxbasedma.ifs
file couldn’t be copied onto the hard disk and that the qnxbase file
couldn’t be unzipped and that I needed to run the unzipper manually. I
used WinZip to decompress the qnxbase file, and copied the qnxbase~1.ifs
file to the hard disk manually, with no errors. 10 GB disk drive is
slightly over half full.

QNX boots all OK, and everything seems fine until I try to go to the
CD-ROM to load packages off of the CD-ROM repository. The package
manager tells me it can’t connect to fs/cd0. However, I can use the
file manager to look at all of the files on the cd just fine.

I see that the CD has 8.3 filenames only, and the QNX utilities are all
referent to full filenames. Was this an error during the CD ROM burn?
Should the CD ROM filenames be long or is 8.3 OK/normal?

I have re-installed several times, always the same result.

QNX doesn’t see PCI modem or second serial port but I’ll tackle those
problems if/when I get past the CD ROM issue.

Any info will be much appreciated.

More info-

I tried the 23 MB file (qnxrtp.exe) instead of installing from the CD.
Install using qnxrtp.exe works fine, no errors, QNX starts up all OK, but
same issue when trying to access the CD using the package manager. File
manager sees the CD just fine. CD is an ATAPI Phillips CD-RW.

Yes they should be long. We use Easy CD to burn our iso images
perhaps you should attempt to use Joilet filesystem or
try a different software package.

Good Luck!
