I have a Toshiba laptop with a WSS/SBPro compatible chipset (Yamaha
OPL3-SA3). Having no audio is no big deal for me, but I am surprised it
doesn’t work (it works fine with the QNX 4 Audio driver with SBPro
interface). It doesn’t work in RtP with either interface (well the mixer
works, but sound doesn’t play, I suspect DMA or interrupt isn’t working,
although I am specifying them correctly - nope it’s not autodetected).
Should this work ? Is there a better driver to use than deva-sb ?

Could you please run (as root) /sbin/enum-isapnp
and post the results?
Thanks,

Not what I was hoping for. If I remember correctly, Toshiba
laptops are not really PnP. They have settings in the BIOS
to configure the sound system. Does using those settings
help?

Well, using those settings gets deva-sb to run, and I can use the mixer
(which means it has detected the presence of the chip). I am using the
DMA, and interrupt settings that I have configured in the BIOS, but
when I try to play an mp3 the player hangs (and so does deva-sb,
since the mixer no longer works once I have tried to play an audio
file). If I stick to playing audio CD’s and just use the mixer, I am
OK. As I mentioned before, when I use the same settings with QNX4
Audio it works fine. It is possible, that this is some combination of
the differences in Pcmcia support and Audio support between QNX4
and RtP, since I there are differences in the way the resources are
allocated. Don’t waste any time on this, since it is a minor issue, I
just thought you might like to know…
