Installing on a toshiba laptop

I have a toshiba 750DVD which is based on a 233MMX with 128M of memory.

After bootnig from either floppy or CDROM, i get the following messages:

I presume that this is caused by the actual cards and arrangement on the
notebook, but if anyone has any ideas…

I know it is not the media being used, because I was able to load up qnx
on a desktop with minimal difficulties.

Thanks

Please will you post the output from ‘pci -v’ on this laptop.

Thanks, Hugh.

I don’t have the opportunity to even get to the point of doing a “pci
-v”. Is there any other way under linux for example, that I can get you
the same information.

Hi Iain,

We can build you an image here that is going to use the pci utility
that then can retrieve the information that the developer requires.
This then can be relayed to the developer and can then be sorted out
to find out what the issue is.

I am working on the image now and will hopfully have it ready soon.

Erick.

Hi Iain,

I have created a new boot floppy that should boot up on your system
if not please let me know (as I think I know what it is). You can
download this floppy from

staff.qnx.com/~emuis/

Download the “Bootable diskette for use of simple debugging with QNX RTP”

Along with the “Makedisk util”.

On a Windows system format a floppy diskette, then use the makedisk util
to copy the image to the floppy.

makedisk [image_filename] a:

Now boot from your laptop using this floppy, give it a couple of seconds then
you should be ready. I have placed pci util on the floppy simple type:

pci -vvvv > /pci_output

on the command prompt. Remove the floppy once the write is complete, then
on your desktop RTP system mount the floppy and copy over the pci_output
from the floppy then post it on here.

Thanks!

Erick.

This laptop does not have an LS-120.

It has a ?standard? 1.44M external floppy. Probably the same as the one
associated with Hugh’s tecra 8000. - this is a tecra 750dvd

Hi Iain,

That is entirly possible. LS-120’s are pretty common in Laptops. Lemmie
check to see if the boot disk works on my system here (I have an LS-120 in it
as well), although I doubt it will as the driver is an entirly different
driver.

I should have a new boot disk in about 1 hour.

Erick.

Thanks!

Erick.

Hi Iain,

We can build you an image here that is going to use the pci utility
that then can retrieve the information that the developer requires.
This then can be relayed to the developer and can then be sorted out
to find out what the issue is.

I am working on the image now and will hopfully have it ready soon.
