Problems after installing Patch B.

I am attempting to upgrade QNX RTP installed from the pre-Patch A CDROM
to the current version on the WWW repository and am experiencing the
following problems (after installing QNX 6.0 Patch B and X Photon Patch A):

  1. I cannot access the floppy disk drive from QNX. The command
    mount -tdos /dev/fd0 /fs/floppy
results in apparent disk activity but subsequently df shows the
mount point in parentheses “(/fs/floppy)” and ls /fs/floppy cannot
find the mount point. (This is not new with Patch B - the same
problem existed on the original CDROM installation.)

  2. I can no longer mount Linux partitions. The command
    mount -text2 /dev/hd1t131.2 /fs/aux
    results in an error message
    mount: Can’t mount /fs/aux (type ext2)
mount: Possible reason: Can’t access shared library

Note that is was possible to mount Linux partitions under the
original CDROM installation. This broke when I installed Patch A
back in January, but since the installation didn’t go smoothly, I
was hoping the problem would be fixed if I re-installed from scratch…

  1. X applications don’t work - they apparently can’t find the X libraries.
The package installer claims that X Photon Patch A is installed.
This problem is new with Patch B.

Incidentally, the download of the packages over modem was excruciatingly
slow…

Any suggestions on how to solve these problems would be much appreciated!

I can confirm this behaviour. The same thing happens with “mount -tqnx
/dev/fd0 /fs/floppy”.
It also worked fine for me pre patch ‘A’.

I had similar problems when I tried to upgrade from pre-Patch A to Patch A.
I resolved them by installing Patch A from scratch. You’ll probably find
installing Patch B from scratch the easiest route to ridding yourself of
these problems.
