Software packages, where

Is there a list of available software packages for QNXRTP somewhere ?

Werner Schweizer

Aside from the Repositories, accessible through RTP, I don’t know of any
myself. There is the FTP server, ftp://ftp.qnx.com/ and also a software
list at http://www.qnxstart.com/ … there’s also a russian site, I believe
http://qnx.org.ru/ …? There’s also stuff through http://qdn.qnx.com/ of
contributions for more than just RTP. It’s
http://quics.qnx.com/cgi-bin/dir_find.cgi?/usr/free/ … Hope this stuff
helps!

As to where to find a list of repositories, I don’t know. I’ve been
trying to find some myself  Note that you need the package manager, in
photon, to use the repositories.
By default, you should have the QNX WWW Repository and the QNX CD ROM
Repository in your package manager. You can add new repositories easily; I
believe there’s a button for it (I’m not in QNX at the moment). It’s pretty
easy; add the URL and name it. Most repositories allow you to login
anonymously. Some of the QNX staff have repositories set up and most
supporting sites do, too. Like QNXStart and (if you speak Russian or are
willing to have a translation done  I’m told qnx.org.ru does too, among
others.
I hope this helps! I’ll have to post the list of repositories I have
once I’m back in QNX

Hello,

There is now QNX software available on the tucows web site. http://qnx.tucows.com/
This site contains a lot of QNX software and will continue to grow.

I hope this helps.

This exactly is the point: to know URL and name to enter.
I know about the package manager and how to use it.

Scan newsgroups for staff.qnx.com. The staff (~/)

subsites have a lot of… stuff.

By default the repository names used by the packager are kept
in /etc/system/package/hotlist. The list may change when the packager
is updated.

The idea to build up a meta-repository was pondered on
devtools, May 2001…
