single user mode

I was screwing around with the /etc/passwd file and I accidentally messed up my shell path for the root account. Instead of being “/bin/sh” it is now “bin/sh”… and as a consequence I cannot login as root… and because I cannot get root access I cannot fix the file. Is there any way to boot into a single user mode that will allow me to edit the passwd file?

nevermind… that was easy… boot from with the cd with the option to mount all local filesystems under “/fs”
