NE2000 doesn't work on QNX6.1

I have had pretty much all the problems upgrading that everyone else
seems to have had, but, not to be outdone, it appears I have problems
that no one else had (or at least I didn’t see any reports of). My
devn-ne2000.so (and a few other devn drivers) didn’t get upgraded (i.e.
they still have a Jan 19th date). Now this might not be a problem if
the Jan 19th .so worked with the new io-net but it doesn’t. If I try to
“mount -T io-net -o ioport=0x200,irq=3 devn-ne2000.so” io-net crashes.
Is there any way I can get a current devn-ne2000.so, since without it, I
cannot get to the WWW repository to finish the upgrade ? The CD (the
July 7th version) did not work at all for me (I had the “could not
locate devc-con” error that was supposed to be fixed). Oddly, I do have
the devn-orinoco.so that others were having trouble finding

OK, I managed to manually unpack the .qpk file, extract the
devn-ne2000.so, copy it (as a spill file) over /lib/dll/devn-ne2000.so,
and I now have connection to the WWW repository. The only problem is
there is no GCC development system on the repository ! (this is true
whether I select “new products” or “all products”. Where is the
development system ?

Rennie…

The .iso image does have every thing in it. Can you get an .iso burned
into a CD? Let me know, I’ll send you one.

Regards…

Miguel.

Is this a laptop? If it is, notice the release notes at:

There is a problem with the devp-pccard and devn-ne2000.

I’ve had problems as well, but I have not tried every thing yet either.
So I will hold on until later before I scream for help…

Thanks,

It turns out that what had happened to my system is that a huge number
of operating system files had “become” spill files. I did check this by
running pkgctl on the files that I was loading (before my original
post), and pkgctl reported that they were part of the right package (the
new 6.1), but in fact they were not; they were old 6.0 files that had
been spilled. Once I deleted all the spilled files, I got the correct
version of pkg-installer, and voila! the C/C++ development system
appeared (both in the ISO image and on the WWW repository). The only
remaining problem I have now is that I don’t have Xphoton (this still
does not show in either the ISO or WWW repository for me right now - I’m
sure it’s there it just isn’t showing up for some reason).
