After upgrading to 6.1, I’ve found that my PS-2 Logitech wireless
mouse
(which used to work under 6.0) no longer works. I’ve seen the
“disable
legascy USB” note in QDN for the BIOS, but my BIOS has no such option
(it’s a Tyan Trinity board). Any other suggestions would be
appreciated!

Thanks
Robert Craig.

Could you please provide a little bit more information.

  1. Which version of RTP are you using now?
  2. Is it a notebook?
  3. If so, is there a pointer setting in BIOS? Could you disable internal
    pointer?
  4. could you please just make a small test and send me a screen output?
    In text mode, start
    /usr/photon/bin/devi-hirun -vvvPr ps2 mousedev > any_file

Then
slay devi-hirun

And send me generated file.
If there any error messages on screen, please try to grab them as well.

Thanks,

Alex Chapiro

I have noticed the same thing… except (I have a laptop), my on-board
(PS/2) mouse works fine; but an off-board mouse (plugged in through a
PS/2 connector) no longer works (of course it worked fine on 6.0). I
figure the fact that the on-board mouse works, might give a clue as to
whats going on.

Alex,

Thanks for the patch. Now the mouse is active… but the display is
scrambled, either partially or completely. It was OK before I attached the
new module. Once, I got the display and the mouse Ok. I could even look at
some menus and then it froze with a scrambled display. Since then I have not
been able to get it back right.
Any more ideas?

thanks - Serge

I am having exactly the same problem on a Compaq Prolinea 5133. legacy
USB
Disable does not apply either as old Bios. I tried to disconnect the
mouse
w/o any success. I’m stuck

Thanks for any info - Serge

No luck for me. Looks like I’ll have to wait for a magic bullet
from
someone.
Thanks for the info

This happens only after upgrading to 6.1.

Thanks.

After upgrading to 6.1, I’ve found that my PS-2 Logitech
wireless
mouse
(which used to work under 6.0) no longer works. I’ve seen the
“disable
legascy USB” note in QDN for the BIOS, but my BIOS has no such
option
(it’s a Tyan Trinity board). Any other suggestions would be
appreciated!

Thanks
Robert Craig.

Hi Robert,

The diagnostic messages you sent me, doesn’t show me anything bad.
Nevertheless, I’d like (if you don’t mind) you to try the last version.
Please give me your mail address in order to send you this file.

Regards,

Alex.

Could you please also answer to the questions from my previous mail?
In addition: what type of notebook are you using?

I have noticed the same thing… except (I have a laptop), my on-board
(PS/2) mouse works fine; but an off-board mouse (plugged in through a
PS/2 connector) no longer works (of course it worked fine on 6.0). I
figure the fact that the on-board mouse works, might give a clue as to
whats going on.

Could you please provide a little bit more information.

  1. Which version of RTP are you using now?
  2. Is it a notebook?
  3. If so, is there a pointer setting in BIOS? Could you disable
    internal
    pointer?
  4. could you please just make a small test and send me a screen
    output?
    In text mode, start
    /usr/photon/bin/devi-hirun -vvvPr ps2 mousedev > any_file

Then
slay devi-hirun

And send me generated file.
If there any error messages on screen, please try to grab them as
well.

Thanks,

Alex Chapiro
