devp-pccard problem

Hello,

I have a notebook with CL-6729 PCI-PCMCIA controller, I have installed
QNX6.1 into separate partition. The problem is devp-pccard, it fails to load
(even with empty PCMCIA slots).

In sloginfo output I can find following:
add_pci: attach device failed
devp-pccard: No PCMCIA or CardBus Adapters found - exiting

Command pci -v produces output with these lines:
[snip]
Vendor ID = 1013h, CirrusLogic
Device ID = 1100h, CL-PD6729 PCI-to-PC Card host adapter
[snip]

To be able to start QNX 6.1 on this notebook, I had to modify boot script,
that is start pci-bios with -b1 parameter.

Can anybody help me?

Hi,

Is devp-pccard not already running?
Try rebooting the machine and do a ‘pidin | grep devp-pccard’ and
see if devp-pccard is already running. If not, then start devp-pccard
without doing a ‘pci’ and see if it works.

No, devp-pccard is not running.

To summarize it:

  1. I start notebook into text mode (/etc/config/system/nophoton)
  2. After the line “Detected EIDE …” I have other line “Enumerator error:
    Can’t locate pccard server”
  3. Then I login as root
  4. get all the processes (pidin.txt)
  5. get arguments of processes (pidin_arg.txt)
    … note, that pci-bios has the option -b1, otherway pci-bios
    wouldn’t start
    (I had to do this also in 6.0A,B)
  6. I try to start “pin” , but it says “pin: unable to attach to PCCARD
    server (No such file ot directory)”
  7. get output of slogger (sloginfo.txt)
  8. try to start devp-pccard manualy (devp-pccard -vv)
  9. test, if devp-pccard is running (pidin | grep devp-pccard), but it’s not.

That’s all, should I try sth else?

  2. pci-bios -vvv
  3. devp-pccard ss -v
  4. sloginfo > file
  5. send us ‘file’

  1. slay pci-bios
  2. pci-bios -vvv
  3. devp-pccard ss -v
  4. sloginfo > file
  5. send us ‘file’

I am sending you 2 files, pci_bios1.txt and pci_bios2.txt. In first one I
started pci-bios with -vvv,
in second one with -vvv -b1. As I mentioned, pci-bios doesn’t start
without -b1.

  1. slay pci-bios
  2. pci-bios -vvv
  3. devp-pccard ss -v
  4. sloginfo > file
  5. send us ‘file’


    I am sending you 2 files, pci_bios1.txt and pci_bios2.txt. In first one I
    started pci-bios with -vvv,
    in second one with -vvv -b1. As I mentioned, pci-bios doesn’t start
    without -b1.

I have a notebook with CL-6729 PCI-PCMCIA controller, I have installed
QNX6.1 into separate partition. The problem is devp-pccard, it fails to
load
(even with empty PCMCIA slots).

In sloginfo output I can find following:
add_pci: attach device failed
devp-pccard: No PCMCIA or CardBus Adapters found - exiting

Command pci -v produces output with these lines:

Device ID = 1100h, CL-PD6729 PCI-to-PC Card host adapter

To be able to start QNX 6.1 on this notebook, I had to modify boot script,
that is start pci-bios with -b1 parameter.
