Installing on scsi machines

Always some problems to install on scsi machines.
On a computer with a full scsi chain (cd +hd) and also an ide hd.
First, impossible to select the destination hd (maybe in verbose mode, not
sure). but the main problem is that, when installation tries to restart
drivers to install qrtp it’s unable to mount /dev/cd0 as /cd.
I think it tries to mount an ide cd don’t take care about scsi drives.

Is there any possibility to start qrtp from cd (F2) and to install it
manually from ifs and qfs files?

Thanks,
Alain.

Hi all,

Always some problems to install on scsi machines.
On a computer with a full scsi chain (cd +hd) and also an ide hd.
First, impossible to select the destination hd (maybe in verbose mode, not
sure). but the main problem is that, when installation tries to restart
drivers to install qrtp it’s unable to mount /dev/cd0 as /cd.

I had the same problem. What happened to me, is that the interval between

the SCSI bus reset and the fs recognizing the disc was too short.

I installed QNX RTP 6.1.0 from a Plextor SCSI CD-ROM as follows:

Pressing space, F6 to go verbose, waiting for the drive to recognize the
disc after the bus reset, then pressing enter.

After the restart, I waited for the disc to become recognized again, then
proceeded without verbosity.

I think the fs restart is quite a short interval. You might want to retry a
few
times, as the CD-ROM drive’s time to recognize the disc may vary.

Is there any possibility to start qrtp from cd (F2) and to install it
manually from ifs and qfs files?

I managed to install QNX RTP 6.0 using the Linux QNX filesystem. Don’t

remember the quirky details, though.

Success,

Leon.
