Geode Audio Question...

We are currently using several different NatSemi Geode
(MediaGX) based SBC’s for our in house testing and development.

Historically, QNX has always used the “deva-sb” driver for
audio on the Geode platform.

Under 6.1, there is now a “deva-ctrl-geode”.

However, the audio drivers autodetect and seem to still be
using “deva-ctrl-sb” – and it apparently works ok.

My question is, what exactly IS “deva-ctrl-geode” and
what platforms is it intended for and what is actually
the appropriate driver for a Geode GXLV, GXm, and/or GX1?

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

The SB driver should work for any of the Geodes. The reason
why we have a different driver is because of a bios change
in some of the Geode boards. This change was specific for
QNX, not everyone has it, you would have to ask National for
it, however it is not required.

Hope that explains.

E.
