No Keyboard or Mouse Support So I'm Dead In The Water

What seems to be happening during the installation is that no keyboard or
mouse support ever appears, so I cannot push ESC, or space bar, or affect
the bootup in any way.

  1. I downloaded the qnxrtp.iso on 10/20/01 and burned a CD.

  2. I loaded this CD onto my HP xt878 (it is off-the-shelf Costco with 1.3GHz
    Athlon, NVDA graphics, Windows ME.)

  3. Because this is “not a 98x boot” I was encouraged to create a bootable
floppy disk, which I did. It did of course install the system also on my c:
drive. I tried the floppy created by the normal CD, but also the floppy
    image created using this article:
    http://qdn.qnx.com/articles/jul0601/upgrade.html .

  4. a) If booting from floppy I cannot affect the boot procedure because I
have no keyboard input. It scans EIDE and then shows simq_timer: building
abort ccb simq_timer: building reset ccb and that’s that. Every few minutes
it repeats that pair of comments.

b) If booting from hard disk c: it gets to Please Select a Boot Option (but
I cannot select one because no keyboard input) so it runs from Hard Disk.
It says Waiting for Input Driver, then Welcome to the QNX Real-time Platform
with User Name and PW, but I cannot input anything. So I’m stuck.

Anyone, please help,

 Robert

Just download new driver from developers.qnx.com. There is a few types of
motherboards that have troubles with driver in your installation set. It
will be replaced in next version.
