hang after installing on Thinkpad T21

I just installed 6.1 on my thinkpad. When it boots, I have to use the safe
mode F2 which does not start photon. If I go to F3, which starts photon, it
hangs. I am never getting a graphics screen, only the text based screen.
Is there a way to force it to boot in VGA mode? How do I find a device
driver and install it… Thanks! spoon@scubadiving.com

Hi Jay,

Could you please download the graphics information grabbing
script from:

http://www.geocities.com/erickmuis/files/hardware_scripts/nto/

Then extract the scripts and login as the root user. Once you
are logged in as the root user, please run the script:

…/grafxscript.rtp

Once the script has run, please send us the output.

In the meantime if you use safe mode (F2) you can then
do the following:

touch /etc/system/config/nophoton

This way you should be able to reboot his system normally
and start up in text mode with everything else running.

From text mode you can start Photon in VGA mode using:

ph -s

Take care

Erick.
