I am trying to install QNX on my machine, on a dedicated partition.
I have many partitions on my single harddrive.
Part1: is primary partition and hosts windows 98.
Part2: Is extended partition. It is devided into many logical partitions. I
created one for QNX.
[ part 2a: Linux
part 2b: QNX → Just created specifically for QNX].
all the partitions lie within 1024 cylinder limit.
I use LILO to boot into Win98 and Linux.
Presently I have QNXRTP installed on Windows 98 partition. Therefore, when I
boot into Win98 using LILO, I get another menu to boot either into 98 or
QNX. I am trying to change the boot structure to be able to use only one
menu, i.e to be able to boot into 98, Linux, QNX from LILO. I would like to
know if anyone has done it. (I suppose so).
I set out to install another QNX on the newly created partition Part 2a (
rather /dev/hda6 on Linux terminology).
I booted the maching with QNX cd, and navigated upto the point where it
asked me where I wanted to install. One surprising thing I found was, it
gave me only two choices, Part 1-> primary partition, and Part 2-> Extended
partition. It also warned me that I would loose all the data if I chose a
partition. At that point, I was expecting it to provide me a map of hard
disk partitions and ask where to install, much like Linux. I decided to stop
at that point as I was not sure if QNX would give me more choices later on.
Has anyone installed QNXRTP on a dedicated partition and has been able to
boot using a single boot loader, either LILO or NT bootloader?
Thanks in advance for any help…
