installing 6.1

I just purchased the latest qnxrtp, When i boot on the cd, it says ‘doesnt
have qnx6.1 filesystem to mount’, then it halts…
anyone got idea?

it automatically detects the boot record from Cd-rom, says ‘boot record from
cd rom is found - ok’.
then it displays that message "doesnt have qnx 6.1 filesystem to mount’…
I have qnx 6.0 installed on the hard drive.

Are you selecting to install when you boot off the CD?

No. I want to delete 6.0, and install 6.1, thought by installing 6,1 wil
erase 6.0 if I choose
full partition. I need to mount the filesystem before install 6.1?

If you want to keep both 6.0 and 6.1 on the machine, you will have to go
in
fdisk, and change the partition number of yoru 6.0 partition… from 78 to
79, or vice versa. Because RTP looks for the 78 slot to install.

Hello Ran,

When you boot off the CD you should be presented with a choice of F1,F2
or F3. By default F1 will run after 30 seconds trying to boot your
existing QNX 6.1 system which you don’t have before installation. My
guess is this is what’s happening. If you select F3 (I believe) to
install QNX you should be presented with many screens giving you options
for your install. One of those screens will give you the option to
delete your existing type 79 partition to install onto. If you do this
all should be well with your new install.

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Dave B.
