Intel Pro 100+ (82559) Problems

Hi,

I trying to install Intel Pro 100+ (82559) NIC and I’m having some problems.
I’ve got a cable network connection.

I’m unfamiliar with all the fancy management features of this network card.
Is there anything I need to disable/enable (ie. boot agent, wol,…)? What’s
this boot protocol stuff ( PXE or RLP)? I’ve updated the driver as well but
it didn’t solve anything.

For some reason, it’s not being able to contact the DHCP server and obtain
an ip address. Send and receive lights are flashing, but eventually my
network does not get configure. I’ve tried using ‘phlip’ and ‘dhcp.client’
as described another email.

I’ve also tried installing the NIC under Windows. The driver installs and
the tests are successful but I still have the same problem with getting an
ip address.

I purchased the card used but I don’t think there’s any thing wrong with it.

Any help would be great.

When I do pci -vvv, I get this long list. Since the terminal window has no
scroll bars, I can’t see my network card.

How do I save the results into a file, or view only network cards?

You can use ‘pci -vvv > pci_output.txt’. Then you can cut and past the
entries from the pci_output.txt file.

This looks like the same card that I got when I signed up with @Home.
Unfortunately this card doesn´t work with QNX 6.1. I ended up having to
swap the card for a 3com.

You might want to try the latest devn-speedo driver found in the fixes
section of http://developers.qnx.com

The devn-speedo driver on developers.qnx.com is still the one dated
10-Aug-2001

This driver has known problems, including (the one that affects us) the fact
that the command-line options to force it into full-duplex don’t work.

We were promised some time ago that a new version would appear RSN. We are
still waiting. Any update?

Yes, some of the 6.1 NIC drivers had problems determining media rate and
duplex. And to make it worse the command line args don’t always work.

We were promised some time ago that a new version would appear RSN. We are
still waiting. Any update?

This stuff should be repaired in the next release. Contact your sales

You might want to try the latest devn-speedo driver found in the fixes
section of > http://developers.qnx.com
It fixes some issues encoutered in the past with this driver.
