i have changed out my linksys pcmcia nic in favor of a xircom nic which i
have borrowed from my company laptop.
the Xircom is recognized using the tulip driver at 0x500 irq 07…
but…you just knew there had to be a but here.
how do i get this nic to pickup an address from my router?

Not sure what you mean here… you mean an IP address? (dhcp.client)
or you can use phlip in Photon to setup the networking.

Yeah…will it (QNX) accept an address assigned by an external device
(router) or does the address have to be configured within QNX then assigned
in the router’s configuration?

Well if your router has a dhcp server on it, then simply run dhcp.client
on the QNX side, then everything should be happy. The manual config
can be done as well.
