Making a bootable HDD from a Floppy

Hi,

I have a QNX4 bootable floppy that run a minimal system.
I would like to transfer this bootable disk into a HDD bootable
system. How can i make this ?

I have made a fdisk then a dinit with the .boot on the floppy
but nothing happen when i try to boot this disk !

Thanks.

Hi Yasmine,
QNX4 is a commercial OS. So I guess, you ask for some hack in bad mean of this word. In other
words, you may want to contact QSSL sales rep in order to buy QNX4 (I believe they sell it, you’ll
have all stuff for installing QNX4 on HDD). Or you could install QNXRTP, it’s free for
non-commercial use.
Best regards,
Eduard.

Hi Yasmine,

Why try QNX4. It’s better for you to go with QNX6. For more details go to:

http://www.qnx.fr
http://get.qnx.com
http://qdn.qnx.com

Don’t hack around with QNX4. The floppy is a demo. Download the QNX RTP. You can do more with that.

Contact QNX France for any questions concerning pricing

Cheers,

Freddy
