Installation Problems

I’m trying to install QNX6.1 on the following system:

Pentium IV 2000 mhz
Adaptec 160 29160N SCSI Controller
Seagate SCSI 160 36.7 Gig Hard drive
ATAPI CDROM

Windows 2000 Pro is already installed.

I’m installing from a QNX6.1A commercial Product CD.

After booting from the CD-ROM, I went through the following steps

F3: Install QNX to a new disk partition
F2: Verbose mode
F1: Continue
F1: Accept EULA
F2: Install to : /dev/hd1 SCSI aha 35000 255 63 4462
F1: Allow the QNX partition to be anywhere on the disk
F1: Install from device cd0 type cd
F2: Use half the available free space
F1: Install the QNX boot loader

Then I get the following message:

Restarting driver and mounting filesystems
Executing devb-aha8 eide fullscan blk auto-partition
Path=0 - Adaptec CHIM
Target=0 lun=0 Direct-Access(0) -Seagate ST336752LW REV 004

Unable to mount /dev/cd0 as /cd
Partition Installation aborted

I’ve tried running from the CD to check for hardware compatibility (F2 at
the first prompt) and it runs fine.

Any help would be appreciated

It’s knowen issue :wink: You cannot install QNXRTP from IDE CD-ROM drive to SCSI hard drive. As
workaround you could borrow the SCSI CD-ROM device somewhere.
