CArdBus problem on Toshiba Tecra 8000

I am trying to launch CArdBus (PCMCIA) under QNX 6.2.1 on my notebook
Toshiba Tecra 8000 with ToPIC97 CardBus controller. But all my attempt
faults. The only what I see from “pin” is
“Empty” in all slots.

There was the QNX 4.25 installed on the same notebook. But there was the
single problem: QNX 4 Dev.generic was launched only when I changed the line
ports=0x340 in place of ports=0x320 in pcmcia.cfg.

This is strange, as I have a Tecra 8000 on my desk which works fine!
Some things to check:

Is the BIOS setup for CardBus/16-bit?
What card(s) do you have in the slot(s)?

If the above does not help, then please do the following and post the
output ‘file’:

  1. slay devp-pccard
  2. sloginfo -c
  3. devp-pccard -vvv 2> file
  4. sleep 3
  5. slay devp-pccard
  6. sloginfo >> file

Hi Huge,

First, I don’t know how to determine BIOS setup for CardBus. I can to
enter to System SetUp via ESC and F1 at the Toshiba power up. I see there
“ACPI BIOS version = 9.30”. There is some setting but no CardBus. I also
have Windows XP on my notebook. There is no Toshiba Utilities for Windows
XP.


Second, I am experimenting with the next PC Cards:

MT5634 ZLXI - MultiTech Modem (work fine with QNX 4)
DLINK DFE-680TXD Ethernet controller (work fine in XP)
DLINK DE660 - Ethernet controller - work fine with QNX 4)

but I don’t see any differences.

Hi Huge,

First, I don’t know how to determine BIOS setup for CardBus. I can to
enter to System SetUp via ESC and F1 at the Toshiba power up. I see there
“ACPI BIOS version = 9.30”. There is some setting but no CardBus. I also
have Windows XP on my notebook. There is no Toshiba Utilities for Windows
XP.

When in the BIOS setup, press PgDn and you will see a second screen. There
under PC CARD, you will see the settings.

Second, I am experimenting with the next PC Cards:

MT5634 ZLXI - MultiTech Modem (work fine with QNX 4)
DLINK DFE-680TXD Ethernet controller (work fine in XP)
DLINK DE660 - Ethernet controller - work fine with QNX 4)

but I don’t see any differences.

This is strange, as I have a Tecra 8000 on my desk which works fine!
Some things to check:

Is the BIOS setup for CardBus/16-bit?
What card(s) do you have in the slot(s)?

If the above does not help, then please do the following and post the
output ‘file’:

  1. slay devp-pccard
  2. sloginfo -c
  3. devp-pccard -vvv 2> file
  4. sleep 3
  5. slay devp-pccard

I am trying to launch CArdBus (PCMCIA) under QNX 6.2.1 on my notebook
