Pkgmgr vs Voyager behind Firewalls

I’ve lost my original thread on this topic because it was never
responded too.

QSSL, what is the difference between firewall processing in Voygager and
the pkgmgr?

I am sitting behind a firewall whose access is controlled by Windows
NT. I have two different usernames/passwords I can use with this
firewall. One works when I am logged into windows NT using windows
apps. It’s my domain user name and password. The other one I use when
I dial into the network from outside the company, and when I use non M$
programs under Windows such as Netscape, under NT.

In QRTP, the second user/pass works with Voyager. But I don’t even get
a password prompt in the Pkgmgr using the same setup.

Can you just give me a note to say, patience, we’re working on that, or,
hey, we didn’t know about that, here’s what to do to fix it, or, hey, we
can’t fix that, some mystery going on here.

Just a quick "me too!"

What kind of setup you have for Voyager? Do you use SOCKS or HTTP proxy?
We have a firewall here too and we have HTTP proxy as most sites behind
firewall do. Both Voyager and PkgManager work well with HTTP proxy.

HTTP proxy.
My admin here has just recently set me up with a new userid and password for
it.
I have not tried it since then, so I will wait till I have before making any
more complaints!

I’m using the http proxy in both places. same proxy address, same port
addres, put in both voyager and pkgmgr preferences panels.
