We are currently using Nto 2.0C and the Metrowerks IDE and are very happy
about this toolchain. Currently we are about two releases behind the QNX4
hosted, not to mention RTP. Will there be new releases? (when?)
Our application is a “datalogger”. Users will connect from Win 95/98/NT/2000
PC’s, either to act as terminals or transfer files. Using ppp seems to be a
lot of mess to set up on the PC side, especially for non experienced users.
The qtalk/qcp utility seems like a much simpler solution. qtalk/qcp does
however not exist on 2.0C. Does anybody have other ideas?
One solution is of course to upgrade the field computers to RTP. We have
custom hardware with custom IPL, Startup and Flash drivers. Will these need
to be changed?

qcp is an “easy” port to QRTP. I had the qcp re part working in about
15 minutes on a PPC.

I forgot to say that we are on Intel (AMD SC400)
Also, I am a bit new to QNX as such and also Unix but after some more
reading it seems like it is really the sz and rz programs we need for file
transfer to Windows. Does a Neutrino version of these exist somewhere?
What about the future plans for Metrowerks?
