Problem tar-ing /usr/photon/bin

When I ran tar -zcvf backup.tgz /usr/photon/bin, it just keeps looping
within the directory, adding files to the tar again & again. Even if I try
to tar /usr/photon or /usr, the same thing happens when /usr/photon/bin is
being tar. I’m using RTP embedded system, there’s a link to /usr/photon/bin
from /nto/x86/graphics/bin just like the full version. Any ideas?

Also, I experienced a “Filename too long” error prompt when I tries to
create filenames exceeding 7-8 characters in /usr/photon/bin only.
