Hello,
the documentation of the resource manager library cares only about
_IO_XTYPE_NONE and _IO_XTYPE_OFFSET.
Is someone able to explain the sematic of _IO_XTYPE_READCOND and its
enumerated friends ??
It would also be nice if someone could explain how a notify message
must be handled by a resource manager … it is completely
unsufficient documented!!

The “Writing a Resource Manager” chapter in the Programmer’s Guide
is presently undergoing a revision. To date, the topics that we’d like
to cover have been identified, but much of the information hasn’t been
updated/written. There’ll be a section on handling xtype members.
Perhaps Thomas or Steven will be able to provide some updated information
in the interim.
