CD drive spin speed

We have a high speed cd rom drive in our
product which we use to both play audio cd’s
and browse files (fs-cdrom).

When an audio cd is inserted the drive spins
at the correct speed for reading audio cd tracks.
We control the audio cd as described in the
knowledge base at

http://qdn.qnx.com/support/bok/solution.qnx?10036

However when a data cd is inserted the drive spins at
its maximum speed which makes a lot of noise
(it sounds like a vaccum cleaner).

Is there any way to control the speed at which
a CD drive spins when it detects a cd rom?

cam-cdrom.so help file → “There are currently no
cdrom_options”

Can we control this at the devctl() level?

Thanks,

I see the same problem (noise) with Yamaha 2100E high-speed CD-RW.
Except in my case I can not actually read any audio CD under RTP while
data CDs are ok, but I reported that already.
