Installing PATCH B on multiple machines

Hello out there !!!

I have 18 machines (in a school) running QNX 6.0 (downloaded Jan 16 2001).
If
I want to update all those machines to PATCH B, do I have to download the
Patch 18
times (witch takes a lot of time) or can I download it once and update all
the 18
machines from that 1 download.

If this is possible, how can I do that ??

No you don’t have to. There is an option with the package
manager to save an archived version of the downloaded files.
You might have to download one more time to get the package
into that file.

At that point I found a way to download the repository
descriptor files. Putting them in a directory allowed me to
use that directory as an installation repository. There
might be an easier or more straightforward way to do this.
The articles at http://qdn.qnx.com helped figure out what
files were needed.

Thanks for the tip!

I have downloaded all the stuff again from another machine and saved the
files
in directory. I now have a of .qpm and .qpk files.

Now the problem is to install from that directory. If I could download the
repository.qpr file corresponding to the downloads, it would be easy to add
an
entry in hotlist file of the Package Manager, but …

I think I have another solution (not tried yet). If I make an index file
containing
all the .qpm file and use pkg-installer -i index, I think that it would
install
all that is in the list.

More to come !!!
