devp-pccard & 386SX processor

I am building a DSSS radio pass-thru device and the platform is a 386sx
processor with 4meg ram, 2 serial on a PC/104 bus with a PCMCIA card adapter
attached. I am using the DSSS PCMCIA card from CDS Technologies.
My problem is:
I build a floppy boot image under 6.10 with bare essentials (console,
devp-pccard & pin).
When I boot this on a 486 platform and start devp-pccard then run pin, I see
the correct info (irq & port addr).
When I boot this image from the 386sx, pin returns blanks. Does not see any
cards or info.

When I start devp-pccard -vvv, on the 486 all insertions/extractions are
reported. On the 386sx nothing is recognized.
I am also using the image=0x1A000 to create the image file due to my limited
memory space.

Are there 486 instructions in the devp-pccard or does this look like an irq
conflict?

Hi Jim,

What PCMCIA chipset is on the 386sx? Also on the 386sx could you
run ‘devp-pccard ss -v’ and post the output here.

Thanks

Erick.

The chip on the PCMCIA card is:

I get no console output on the 386sx when I type:
devp-pccard ss -v

Hi Jim,

OK, devp-pccard is detecting the controller.
Run slogger and start ‘devp-pccard -vvv’ with their card inserted in the slot.
Wait 5 seconds and then slay devp-pccard and run sloginfo and send us the output.

are
reported. On the 386sx nothing is recognized.
I am also using the image=0x1A000 to create the image file due to
my
limited
memory space.

Are there 486 instructions in the devp-pccard or does this look
like
an
irq
conflict?

Hi Jim,

OK, devp-pccard is detecting the controller.
Run slogger and start ‘devp-pccard -vvv’ with their card inserted in the
slot.
Wait 5 seconds and then slay devp-pccard and run sloginfo and send us the
output.

Joe

Hi Jim,

Sorry some important info got left out…
Make sure slogger is running, then run ‘devp-pccard ss -v’, use
sloginfo
to view the debug info.

Joe

I get no console output on the 386sx when I type:

Hi Jim,

What PCMCIA chipset is on the 386sx? Also on the 386sx could you
run ‘devp-pccard ss -v’ and post the output here.

Thanks

Erick.

processor with 4meg ram, 2 serial on a PC/104 bus with a PCMCIA

adapter
attached. I am using the DSSS PCMCIA card from CDS Technologies.
My problem is:
I build a floppy boot image under 6.10 with bare essentials
(console,
devp-pccard & pin).
When I boot this on a 486 platform and start devp-pccard then run
pin, I
see
the correct info (irq & port addr).
When I boot this image from the 386sx, pin returns blanks. Does
not
see
any
cards or info.

When I start devp-pccard -vvv, on the 486 all
insertions/extractions
are
reported. On the 386sx nothing is recognized.
