I have a Linksys ethernet card with a Winbond W89C940 chip on it. Both
linux and BeOS see the card as an NE2000 card, however the QNX demo
floppy doesn’t. Can anyone tell me if QNX RTP will work with this card
as NE2000?

Well, the card is supposed to be NE2000 compatible, which means that it
should be supported. But, the QNX demo floppy (I know, I know, they’re
not the same OS) also claims to support NE2000 cards, but it didn’t
support this particular one, which is the entire reason I asked

Hi Adam,
Some “NE2000 compatible” NICs are NE2000 compatible in their
own special way, that unfortunatly doesn’t always work with
the generic driver.
Guessing by the name “Winbond” it sounds like there may be
something special with this card that only works with
Windows based systems.
However do you know what the model of the card is? EC2T?
if it is then:

EC2T is a PCMCIA card. Is don’t think that is what the original
poster talked about.

How do you know it’s not supported?
If memory serves me right I used some long time ago NE2000 cards with
based on Winbond chip.
Is it ISA or PCI card?

Now I found that card, it is W89C904AFX
