Spawning a compressed file

Is there a clever way to spawn a compressed executable file? I hate to have
to decompress it to a RAM disk and then run it from there and then delete it
once its up. I thought there might be some progeny between spawn and
zlib…

Have you looked into inflator? Just deflate the executable, run inflator, and
it
should allow you to start the executable transparently.

You could use inflator for your compression.
