PPP on RPX-Lite???

Hi all,

Has anyone successfully used PPP to connect to an ISP, from an RPX-Lite running 6.1?

Here’s what I’ve done:

  • Put npm-pppmgr.so, pppd, chat, io-net, etc in my image
  • Started io-net with correct parameters for eth and ppp

io-net -p pppmgr -dppc800-rpxlite channel=2
-pttcpip if=en0:9.26.196.218:255.255.254.0 /dev/null

  • Checked connection with serial port/modem (manually send AT commands to serial port, see that
modem is works, connects to ISP, etc)
  • Configured /etc/pap-secrets with username and password for ISP
  • Wrote /etc/ppp.chat script to dial ISP

ABORT BUSY ABORT ‘NO CARRIER’ ‘’ AT OK ATDT19194257500
CONNECT

  • Run pppd with following options

pppd connect “/bin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/ppp.chat” /dev/ser2 9600 name ms766415

pppd then returns after about a second. That’s it. I’ve added the debug parameter and ran
syslogd, but still didn’t see any output or error messages.

Any suggestions? If anyone has done this, can you send me a sample build script and command lines
that work?

Thanks,

-Brett
