Hi all,
I have a problem with using the native networking of QNX6.1. When
I start up my systems, all of them are visible under /net. But
when copying from and to devices I often encounter a very slow
network performance.
Sometimes, the connection hangs after ca. 160kB of transferred data.
When I use the same setup under QNX4, everything works with very high
performance.
The problem seems to be the 82559 in the embedded system, since the
server works with very high performance over TCP/IP.
Any ideas?
Greetings, Sven

Hi Sven,
How are you starting the driver? (how is QNET mounted)
Thanks!

Hi Sven,
How are you starting the driver? (how is QNET mounted)
I tried both the automatic way (by enumerator) and by hand:
io-net -dspeedo -pqnet
I also made some tests with the tcpip networking etc., it approved
to be slow also.
Under qnet, I sometimes get a cp to 163kB, then it will hang forever.
Under ttcpip, a ftp survives about 1.4MB, then hangs 5 seconds and
continues again. Repeatable. As I said, under QNX4 everything works
perfectly.

Try doing this…
io-net -d speedo nomulticast -p qnet
…and see if that is any better.
