source for diskboot & dinit to ans. questions

Is the source for diskboot and dinit available?

I am trying to determine a couple of things.

  1. What exactly diskboot does when invoked with the -b 3 (install
    qnx) option.

  2. What diskboot is expecting to find in the .qfs file and what it
    does with it.

  3. When dinit is used to initialize a hard disk with the -h and
the -f <image_file> option, if it allocates the entire drive and
sets it up as a proper qnx type. Or do I have to do an
‘fdisk add qnx all’ first before doing the dinit?

Thanks,
Carlton

I want the diskboot’s source too.

  1. What diskboot is expecting to find in the .qfs file and what it
    does with it.

It scans for /.diskroot, and mounts it where it says to.
Blank /.diskroot stands for “mount to /”.
If it found multiple blank /.diskroot 's, diskboot will prompt
for which one to use for root filesystem.

Is there an option to mount to do the same thing?

It would be very usful when working with removable media. You could use a
single command to mount a device and the /.diskroot on that device would
tell mount where to mount it in the QNX namespace.
